First Food

The first food Lydia liked was pears.  For Jack, the winner is squash.  Megan

Jack and Mommy Time

I am loving my one-on-one time with Jack.  It doesn't take much to get him to laugh.  A kiss on the cheek or belly does the trick.  Waving my hair around also makes him smile.  Megan

Gethsemane Preschool

can hardly pronounce it, but I certainly like it!  Lydia's first day at her preschool, named Gethsemane, was a success.  Her teacher is as nice as can be and Lydia is looking forward to going again.  Jack is looking forward to more personal attention.  I am looking forward to a slightly slower pace around the house three days a week.  Megan

Three Years Old!

We have a three year old!  We celebrated Lydia's big day with a backyard Birthday brunch bash, which included about a dozen kids plus parents.  Thank goodness Amy was here to help out.  Lydia LOVED the party, particularly the bouncehouse, Birthday song and donuts.  Luckily we got to keep the house overnight; Lydia certainly had her fill of bounce fun.  The downside of the party is it left all the adults completely exhausted.   She is already asking for another party.  Oh man... San Diego Welcomes Amy and Nathan!

Wow, what a wonderful week!  Amy and Nathan boarded a plane to come visit us.  Lydia and Nathan played, played and then played some more.  We also visited the aquarium where the carp and shark tanks enthralled Nathan.  Under Amy's nurturing watch, Jack began sitting up on his own. Amy and I even got a girl's night out at the Cheesecake Factory (yum).  Lydia woke up this morning to hear that Nathan and Amy had sadly boarded a plane to head back to Kansas.  Her reaction?  "I want Nathan and Amy come back."  I couldn't have said it any better myself.  Megan

Here Comes the Tooth Fairy

We found ourselves driving to the ER Friday night after Lydia face-planted onto the pavement.  Standing on a tricycle proved to be just as dangerous as standing on a baby doll stroller (broken arm in 2013).  A full dental evaluation showed that Lydia's front right tooth was barely hanging on.  The poor baby tooth was unable to be repositioned without possibly endangering the permanent tooth underneath.  My almost three year old now has the smile of a five year old.  Megan

Another Picky Eater???

He is more fond of the spoon than the food.  We will just keep trying.  Megan

Desert Road Trip

John had the day off today, yay!  We packed up the kids and headed 100 miles east to the Anzo Borrego Desert.  We visited Galleta Meadows, a series of metal sculptures scattered around the town of Borrego Springs.  The temps hit above 100 and we had the town to ourselves.  We enjoyed the shade in the park, the sculptures, and a cafe lunch.  Loved it.  Megan

Big Smiles

I texted this photo to John at work.  His response was "Move over Lydia.  There is a new cute contender in town."  Megan

All Aboard!

We spent the morning as a family at the Poway Railroad Park, including breakfast and three rides on the steam train.  It was easy, not-so-busy and fun, all things we greatly appreciate.  Megan
