Still a Waterbug
Lydia just couldn't stay away from Pops! Today we traveled 60 miles north to swim in his resort pool (where he is attending a conference). Lydia was in heaven at the lagoon pool, swimming with big kids. All the sun left her completely wiped out. But what a Monday treat! Megan

First Rescue
I almost forgot to post about John's first rescue case! Click on the link to read about it. The woman rescued was back at her job as a police officer just a few days later. So proud of my husband for helping save a life! Megan

John II, John III and John IV
Three generations of JKRs!!! John's dad spent three wonderful days with us. With sunny San Diego weather, we spent a lot of time playing in the backyard. Hide 'n seek and stomp rocket are Lydia's current obsessions and she loved playing with Pops. We certainly did not like seeing our fun playmate leave. Megan

New Bicycle
Lydia's response to seeing her first, brand-new bicycle disassembled in box? "It's broken." Lydia's response when seated on the assembled bicycle after no success learning to pedal? "It's broken." Megan

3 Months Old
We no longer have a newborn! This three month old is sleeping well. Most nights he only needs one feeding around 3 am. Jack is a morning person; we see the biggest smiles as we greet him "good morning!" He actually eats about the same amount now as he did when he was only a few weeks old. That just shows what a huge appetite he had at an early age. He loves his bath time and baby massages. When upset, Jack fusses rather than cries. I love everything about him. Megan

Wild Ride
Click on the link to see a video of Lydia bouncing Jack. Having a big sis makes for a wild ride. Megan

Assertive Boy
My heart breaks when I think of this photo. Though he was smiling the second before it was taken, it is a reminder of how young Jack is. He is still figuring out not only his body but also our family. We have seen some big changes lately in Jack--lots of smiles and even giggles. He is also learning to speak up for what he wants, which is usually our attention. This is adding some stress to our daily routine but I think it shows that Jack is smart. Competing with an almost three year old for attention takes some assertiveness. Megan

Rainy Days
Hard to believe, we had three stormy days here in San Diego...in a row! Jack had the right idea; nap away these gray days. Lydia on the other hand did not want to slow down a bit. We gave library storytime as well as a dance class a try. Not bad but her favorite rainy day activity seems to be cooking. She loved using her kid-friendly knives to cut up apples for crockpot oatmeal. We also made cupcakes. Can't be too healthy. Megan
