A Good Week

Other than our colds, we had a spectacular week!  I started looking into part-time preschool programs for Lydia and now have two great options.  A prerequisite for both programs is to be potty-trained so we began truly working on it.  Lydia already had some success!  This is beginning to feel like a whole new and exciting chapter for her.  Jack had his two month check-up this morning.  He is in the 90th percentile for height, weight and head size.  The doctor felt that he is thriving with no concerns.  A huge relief, Jack has started sleeping for longer periods at night.  Another piece of good news is our landlord has agreed to fix up our backyard.  Most likely we will be adding AstroTurf, wood chips and some new plantings.  Bye-bye dust bowl/mud pit!  Can't wait to share the before and after photos.  Megan

Pass the Kleenex Please

Lydia, John and I have been battling bad colds for over a week now.  The three of us combined are averaging a box of Kleenex a day.  Thankfully, Jack has shown no signs of sickness.  Apparently formula does a body good!  Megan

Having Fun with Jack

It is so much easier to take photos of Jack than Lydia because he stays still!

He makes leg-warmers look manly!

Relaxing during bathtime.  This look gets me every time.  Megan

Happy Jack

Jack has started smiling and cooing for us!  When Lydia was a baby she loved hanging out on her changing pad in the bathroom.  Jack seems to love our bed the same way.  The view of the ceiling fan makes him light up.  It is nice to see him enjoying life.  Megan

The Morning Rush

The first fifteen minutes of our mornings seem to be some of the busiest. Lydia wakes up, sometimes at 7 (yay!), or maybe 6:30 (okay) or 6 (ugh!). She jumps out of bed raring to go, ready for play. This morning it was requesting water play in the sink. "Water mix!?!?! Water mix!?!?!" Milk, diaper change, and hair barrette. Then water play begins. Water is now all over the counter tops and kitchen floor. Oh well, at least she is entertained (and it cleans the floor).  Lucy goes outside for her breakfast. She wants back in almost immediately for her two bones. Lydia wants to tease her with the two bones before giving them to her. Coffee for Mom (yes please!). Lydia is adamant she must make it. I watch closely to make sure she doesn't burn herself in the process. Bottle for Jack is made and ready for him to awake, which hopefully did not occur in the middle of the previous events. Megan

Grandma R's Visit!

Grandma R visited us in San Diego to meet Jack and treat Lydia to glow stick dance parties and nail polish.  Check out my gorgeous manicure!  Megan
